My Name is Betty Fast, I've been saved for 33 years. My life could read like a novel if you so desired, I thought that for many years I was a Christian, I was raised to believe you were always saved no matter what sin you committed. I suffered from low self esteem, I had always wanted to be loved and had to prove to the other girls that I was just as good as they were, and I could get all the good looking guys as well.
I had married a guy that had beaten me continually, and abused me mentally. 3 years and 2 children later our marriage ended in divorce. Now I am lost, and trying to start my life all over again. Just as if I wasn't broken enough, my oldest child died of leukemia, and this broke me down even further. God had been speaking to my heart, but I really didn't know how to serve him. The only way I knew was through religion and that's where I was stuck with no one to guide me. I met a guy named Tim, and started dating him, although Tim liked doing drugs, I was never into that sort of thing, but I did them only to please him. Tim was stilled married but separated from his wife, and our relationship began to grow. Then one day Tim traveled to Arizona to visit his brother, and while there he went to church with him, and at this time Tim bowed his knee to the living God, and gave his life to Christ. Tim started calling me and telling me what had happened in his life, and he began encouraging me to accept Christ as my savior. Tim led me in the sinners prayer, and I ended coming to Arizona to serve Jesus Christ as my Savior. Tim's and my relationship grew together in Christ. Living a Godly life the way Jesus would want, Tim and I eventually married. Tim and I started a new life together, but we weren't without difficulties. Tim was a diabetic, and had many health problems, but God gave us 27 wonderful years together.
Through all the struggles of our lives Tim and I shared Christ with many people in all that we did for God. These struggles only made us stronger, through our struggles we learned to take our problems in prayer to the Lord and God was so gracious in his mercies to us. Freidrich stated "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" but you know, we found that so true in the Christian realm. Tim went on to be with the Lord in 2011, and I am still experiencing the Love and blessings of a wonderful Savior that takes care of me.
If you're reading this, and you to discover that your life is in need of change, may I encourage you to give your life to Jesus. Jesus loves you and gave His life for you, If you will just give Him a chance, open your heart and invite him in. Believe me when I say I can't wait to meet Him in the air, I wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for giving my life to Jesus.
